Traveling to Türkiye for Treatment: A Guide for Patients from Albania and Kosovo

From remote evaluation to arrival in Izmir — how a treatment journey to Türkiye works in practice.

Step 1: Evaluation before you travel

Everything starts before the trip: send your MRI/CT images and complaints via WhatsApp. An initial assessment clarifies whether travel is worthwhile and how many days to plan — before you buy a ticket.

Travel documents

Citizens of Albania and Kosovo travel to Türkiye with well-known facilitations; still, always check current rules from official sources before departure. Bring reports and images on CD or as a digital link.

Flights to Türkiye

Frequent flights connect Tirana (TIA) and Pristina (PRN) to Istanbul; from there, Izmir (ADB) is a one-hour flight. From the airport, the İZBAN train reaches the center in about 30 minutes.

Examination day

The specialist reviews your images with you, examines you in person and discusses options openly — not every case requires surgery. You receive a clear plan before any decision.

Follow-up from home

After returning, follow-up continues remotely: control images and questions are handled via WhatsApp, in your language.
